Deneal has outstanding experience for taking on the role of Head Master of Warwick. Having grown up in Blackpool, he studied at St John’s College, Cambridge, emerging with a first class degree in Mathematics and Astrophysics and a PhD in Observational Astronomy. He began his teaching career at Winchester College before becoming Head of Sixth Form and then Director of Studies at Magdalen College School, Oxford. He is in his fifth year in his current role as Under Master (Senior Deputy Head) at Westminster School.

Throughout the selection process, he performed superbly and demonstrated a very strong pastoral instinct, excellent leadership and strategic thinking, a love of teaching and learning and warm emotional intelligence.
