Richard Vizor (WS 1957-1964)

OW Jon Vizor (WS 1959-1967) provides the following obituary for his brother, Richard Vizor.

Sadly my older brother, Richard Vizor, died on Saturday 5th June 2010 at the age of 61.  Richard first suffered from cancer in 1999 and after successful surgery and treatment returned to a normal active life in Panama where he has lived for the past 35 years.  Less than two months ago it was discovered that the cancer had returned and although it was operated upon, it was subsequently found to have spread to his lungs.  He was admitted to hospital at the end of May and then had a massive coronary from which he did not regain consciousness.  He will be sorely missed by his mother Mary, his wife Yansi, his two children Andrew and Alexander and his two brothers Jon and Charles. Richard left Warwick School in 1964 to join the Merchant Navy where he became a Navigational Officer before joining Joseph Lucas in the Latin American Division and after spells in Brazil and Indonesia was dispatched to Panama.  Richard fell in love with the country and set up his own trading company in Panama which flourished for many, many years.  Richard was proud of his association with Warwick School and attended two reunions there over the past three years.

Richard's very well-attended funeral took place in Panama at the Anglican Cathedral followed by a wake at the Bilbao Yacht Club.  At his request, his ashes were scattered on the Pacific Ocean near the entrance to the Panama Canal.
